Ms. Backus was elected to a leadership position within our ILMEA District. Her official title is ILMEA District 2 Junior Band Organizational Chair. Her duties include distributing the festival music to all our District 2 schools who have kids selected to perform, overseeing the Junior Honor Band rehearsal the day of the festival at Augustana College, seeing to the needs of our guest conductor, and getting to conduct the Junior Honor Band in the National Anthem at the festival concert.
